Men's Blazer Sizes

Which size fits me best?

All of the measurements provided in the table above are the measurements of the final garment. You can easily determine your size using one of two methods: measuring a blazer that fits you or taking your body measurements.

Measure a blazer that fits you

Find a blazer that you feel comfortable in, and lay it out on a flat, firm surface. For precision, it is best if you press or iron the garment first. Using a tailor’s measuring tape, take the individual measurements of the blazer as shown on the diagram:

Chest
With the blazer fully buttoned, measure the distance between the side seams in the widest spot just under the sleeves. Multiply this distance by two to get a circumference.

Waist
With the blazer still buttoned and lying flat, measure the distance between the side seams, at the narrowest point of the body. Multiply this distance by two to get a circumference.

Hemline
With the blazer still buttoned and lying flat, measure the distance between the side seams, at the point where the seams meet the hemline. Multiply this distance by two to get a circumference.

Back Length
Lay the buttoned blazer face down on a firm surface. Measure the back length down the center seam of the garment, from the point where the collar is attached, down to the hemline, including the length of the slit.

Sleeve Length
Lay the sleeve out flat, and measure the distance between the uppermost point of the sleeve to the cuff opening. Make sure the sleeve does not twist while you measure.

Bicep
Lay the sleeve out flat, and measure the width of the sleeve about 10cm / 4in from the bottom of the armhole. Make sure the sleeve does not twist while you measure. Multiply this distance by two to get a circumference. Keep in mind that even with the same circumference, the sleeve may fit differently due to the depth of the armhole and the type of lining used.

Cuff Opening
Measure the inner circumference of the cuff opening by following its edge with the measuring tape. Make sure the sleeve does not twist while you measure.

Make a note of all the measurements, and look for the closest matching size in the table. If your measurements are between two sizes, it is usually a good idea to go one size up.

Take your body measurements

If you would like to determine the required size using your body measurements, it is a good idea to ask somebody to take the measurements while you stand still. With a tailor’s measuring tape, take the individual measurements as described

Chest
Take a measurement around the widest part of your chest, while inhaling lightly. Add 7cm / 2.5in to the measurement for freedom of movement.

Waist
Take a measurement around the narrowest point in your waistline, while breathing normally. Add 7cm / 2.5in to the measurement for freedom of movement.

Hips
Take a measurement around your hips, at the widest point of your pelvis. Add 7cm / 2.5in to the measurement for freedom of movement.

Back length
Take a straight-line measurement from the point where your shoulders meet your neck to the point on your hips where you would like your hemline to sit.

Sleeve length
With your arm extended downwards, take a straight-line measurement from the point where your shoulder meets your collarbone to the point below your wrist where you would like your cuff to sit. Add 2.5cm / 1in to the measurement for freedom of movement.

Make a note of all the measurements, and look for the closest matching size in the table. If your measurements are between two sizes, it is usually a good idea to go one size up.
